Ilana Kohn (UPDATED)

If you been asking where I have been, I have been at school so my blogging has cut down tremendously but I will be updating as much as possible. In my art class we are doing a research project on different artist and I got an artist by the name of Ilana Kohn. When I first looked this person up I was not interested because of some of the work I saw but as time progressed her work warmed up to me. This artist lives in New York and has distinctive style that at first I did not understand until I analyzed and paid more attention to it. Every artwork from Ilana Kohn has a meaning to it. Then I taught myself a lesson, ''Just because it looks like something I would not do does not mean it isn't good.'' Looking at her artwork has taught me many things about color schemes and also telling a story without going overboard. She has taught me how to make something so simple turn into something that can draw out emotion while telling a story. Check out some of her works at the bottom of the post and tell me what you think. ENJOY!!!

Update:

It is crazy how much I have missed because she now has her own clothing line now which is really good to be honest. It is crazy how people's lives change and how over time people develop and change into someone totally different, hopefully for the best. If you loved her illustrations like I did check out her clothing line HERE on her Instagram for more of her.

The Snap-Back Come-Back!!

It seems like the popular 80's trend is making a comeback you can trace these hats all the way back to the NWA days all the way up to rappers now a days such as Soulja Boy, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Chris Brown and many more. But the thing that I love about these hats are that they old with a new era look. To me when you look at the the snapbacks they demand more of a presents then the fitted since the fitted hats have been around in this era  more. But another thing about the snapbacks I like is that it started in the 80's, meaning that it was in the era when people use to put colors together to make clothing stand out more. Now, in my opinion, most of the colors are kind of straight forward. The 80's are making a comeback too as far as colors being thrown together to make a great creation, like a portrait. What do you guys/gals think. ping rss
