If you ask about The Hundreds in the street wear community they would say one thing and that is, THE HUNDREDS IS HUGE!!! One of the biggest names in the street wear in the United States right now & arguably one of the most known brands in the world. Known for the signature logo the bomb they have done collaborations with just about anyone you can think of, you’re probably wondering why this brand is so important or even relevant. Sit back & I will explain why this brand is relevant to My Jerm’’s. In this article I will give you the full in depth story on them from their history, what they stand for, & also some facts you might not know about them. Once you read this you will understand also who knows you might also become a fan of them like I did, so sit back, relax, && ENJOY!!!

Okay let’s start with a quick explanation, before you say you’re down with a brand, organization, group, etc. you first have to know what they stand for & what they are all about. Anyway let’s get back to the story, The Hundreds have two cofounders Ben && Bobby Hundreds natives of California. If you ask them what they were doing before they started The Hundreds they would answer with, ‘’we were in LAW SCHOOL….’’ I know it’s funny how people who studied law would turn out to be fashion designers but in an interview Bobby was quoted saying, ‘’we didn’t feel like being liars.’’ Yes to answer your question they did finish law school but they went on to pursue their passion in the street wear culture. Looking thru all my information I can conclude that they started in 2003 but don’t quote me on that but what was gonna separates them for everyone else.

To Ben & Bobby it was important to them that the brand had to have character, meaning, & also it had to stand for something, so they came up with the idea of using a blog. Now a day’s that’s not a big thing because everyone has one but back in 2003 no one was really using a blog or the internet to sell their clothes.  In an interview Bobby, the most talkative of the two, said ‘’it was important to them that the people who wore the clothing know what it stands for. So when you see a person walking down the street with a Hundreds shirt on you know they look at the blog, know the music that The Hundreds listens to, & are also down with the lifestyle.’’ That right there should give you an idea on what they are about, now they have over 1.5 million viewers a month worldwide.

After a couple of years they started to become more than just a t-shirt brand they started making apparel such as hats, shorts, button downs, just to name a couple of stuff. Since they were natives of California they stayed true to their roots & styled there designs around that culture. If you don’t know the style they were looking for it was mixture of skateboarding, gang apparel, mixed with a little surfer style. Since we are talking about Cali go & check out their stores which are located in Los Angeles and San Francisco. They also have a store in New York & recently in Santa Monica so check them out. Okay, to sum this all up, The Hundreds Is Huge they are one of the most well known street wear brand in the market.

Thoughts From Jeri:

The thing about them that I like is the fact that they aren’t afraid to do what they like; I’m a huge fan of their blog/website. It gives you a feel on what they really are all about; to me it is cool how they combined their love of their culture with cartoons to make awesome logos. This is one brand that I can honestly say they inspired me to become greater than what I want myself to be & to also think outside the box. This brand is not only a clothing line but also a way of life. So what I’ve learned from them is that you should always build a fan base first & to also make sure no matter how much success you may have just remember never lose yourself in the process. So I hope you enjoyed this little article and I hope this helps you further your interest in The Hundreds && ENJOY!!!

The Snap-Back Come-Back!!

It seems like the popular 80's trend is making a comeback you can trace these hats all the way back to the NWA days all the way up to rappers now a days such as Soulja Boy, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Chris Brown and many more. But the thing that I love about these hats are that they old with a new era look. To me when you look at the the snapbacks they demand more of a presents then the fitted since the fitted hats have been around in this era  more. But another thing about the snapbacks I like is that it started in the 80's, meaning that it was in the era when people use to put colors together to make clothing stand out more. Now, in my opinion, most of the colors are kind of straight forward. The 80's are making a comeback too as far as colors being thrown together to make a great creation, like a portrait. What do you guys/gals think. ping rss
